Curator of the most popular and eye-catching 360° virtual tours in Washington, DC hospitality, photographer, Jason Flakes is announcing he will be launching his own personal works for the first time in over a decade.
With his focus on the creation of expansive panoramic photography, Flakes has begun compiling images for his latest gallery submission. His 360° panoramic images will be revealed at an art show in Northern Virginia sometime in the Fall of 2014.
“We currently look at pictures straight on as this one shot, but the world around us is 360° - there is a kinetic space that we live in. I want to show this as one single image. I want to show this new artistic way and the best way that I know how is through my photography,” states Flakes as he spoke with us in this exclusive interview.
As one of the most popular Washington, DC based photographers, Jason Flakes has had the opportunity to venture to many places around the globe. It’s through his travels that he has been able to capture incredible shots of sculptures, theaters, and people in their natural work environment and architectural imagery in all its beauty.
The event is receiving lots of buzz and is highly-anticipated both by Flakes himself, and his peers as this gallery showing in Washington, DC will be his first one in twelve years. Flakes believes he’s found the medium that he enjoys and with this passion and drive, others will be able to feel the exact emotions that he was trying to convey.
One of his beloved peers was even noted saying, “He doesn’t just take pictures, he designs them. It’s more than one would think and it’s honestly impressive to watch him bring images to life. This event will be something you don’t want to miss!”
Each final image will be a compilation of six high dynamic range (HDR) images that are intricately stitched together. The HDR images are bracketed from three to six exposures.
Shot with the Canon 5DMII and the 15mm Fisheye lens, Flakes hopes to display his works in the popular Artisphere gallery in Arlington Virginia. He hopes to sell several pieces at this gallery event.
